We survived another Monday! Actually, we did more than survive we thrived. We celebrated a few classmates' birthdays today with some delicious treats.
This week we are continuing our unit on Decimals. We discussed how to place decimals on number lines, as well as using those number lines to prove which decimals are greater or less than others. We will continue to learn how number lines are powerful tools in all areas of mathematics.
In Science this week we will begin a series of stations to help solidify our knowledge of physical properties of matter. We will do everything from "Read It" to "Create It." By the end of the next two weeks, we will have attained all levels of Bloom's Taxonomy in relation to Matter...and have some fun along the way.
Reminder: This Friday is a teacher In-service Day so there is no student attendance. Oly North teachers will be meeting with their grade level coworkers from the other two elementary buildings. There is also no school on Monday in recognition of Columbus Day.
Remember, your role as a parent is critical in the success of your student. Thank you for taking time these last few nights to help your child edit/revise their Edublogs writing. It means the world to them to have your help...even if they don't act like it. Mrs. Steffen and I greatly appreciate all of your help and we look forward to meeting with you next week at Conferences.
